Success Rates
The Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM) results match or exceed the normal chances of achieving pregnancy and birth in fertile couples. For young fertile couples trying naturally, the normal chance of pregnancy per menstrual cycle is approximately one in six.
Currently, our assisted conception pregnancy rate for the under 35s is approaching 50% and improving year on year.
Other methods offer varying degrees of success, depending on the cause and degree of the infertility problem(s) in each couple. We’ll give you up-to-date, detailed results as they apply to you and your individual circumstances, to help you make choices.
Our Successes
The tables below shows the latest Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine clinical pregnancy rates for IVF & ICSI cycles for the time period 1st January 2009 to 31st August 2009, for patients using their own eggs in a “fresh” cycle. We have presented our results as per the HFEA website format in order that you may directly compare the success rates we obtain here at BCRM with other units.
Where pregnancies are reported, these have been confirmed by the presence of a foetal heartbeat by ultrasound scan.

Where national data is quoted, this is as published by the HFEA website (Human Fertilisation Embryology Authority) www.hfea.gov.uk. Guidance as to the interpretation of clinic success rates can also be found on HFEA www.hfea.gov.uk/fertility-clinics-success-rates.html.
