Our Administration teams work across all settings within our hospitals and support the operational running of the Trust. Working as an administrator or a co-ordinator is a great place to start or develop a career in the NHS with a variety of career progressions available. You will need to be well organised, with good attention to detail and strong keyboard/typing skills. You will also need to answer phones, and provide support to patients and staff.
Our Medical Secretaries provide efficient and high-quality administration and clerical support to clinicians and their teams, working in close cooperation with all staff groups and other medical professionals. Working within a team, our Medical Secretaries act as key contact point, liaising with patients, medical and nursing staff and other external agencies and dealing with queries competently and professionally.
Key responsibilities would include typing clinic notes/reports and general correspondence, arranging meetings and managing diaries, ordering stationary, making and taking phone calls, supporting with post and emails and other tasks required by the department within the required time frames.
Our Audio-Typists specialise in typing up text from audio sources, which may include consultant clinics, discharge summaries, pre-op and patient letters. It can be an excellent role for individuals with good keyboard skills to expand their experience and skill set in the field of audio-typing. Duties also include answering telephone calls and resolving queries from patients, relatives and clinical staff, as well as supporting the medical secretary with all other admin duties.
Our Information Management & Technology (IM&T) division operates at the heart of the Trust, supporting all NBT staff to work online reliably and securely each day, and deliver digitally-enabled care to patients. They provide a broad range of services and expertise, whether through our Service Desk, implementing system changes and upgrades, delivering ground-breaking change programmes, upholding robust cyber security practices, or overseeing critical Business Intelligence and Coding work that helps the Trust understand and manage its performance.

Our Finance and Procurement department comprises four main streams.
Financial Services teams prepare and distribute financial reports as well as managing cash, capital purchases and ensuring all staff are paid correctly and on time.
Financial Management and Planning teams work to analyse and report on expenditures, set budgets and monitor and implement efficiency savings.

Our main role within admin is to support the rest of facilities in as many ways we can, by providing a central service which offers help in various tasks from absences to pay queries.
· Receive and manage referrals for the complex therapies nursing teams; ensuring they are triaged by appropriate clinicians in a timely manner and patient is added to the wait list. · Maintaining oversight of all nurse-led clinics; ensuring all slots are utilised fully. · Organising ad hoc bookings, overbookings, rescheduling or cancelling clinics when requested by nurses.· · Ensure all patient RTT statuses are correct at every stage of their pathway. · Maintaining spreadsheets and databases; updating patient records with outcome of MDT / specialty meetings and clinic appointments. ·Responding to patient or staff contact via telephone, email · Provide efficient typing support for the DBS nurses; typing clinic and ad hoc letters within the Trust target of 5 working days from date of dictation, prioritising any dictations marked urgent. · Working seamlessly with senior administrator to ensure workload is prioritised and completed accordingly. The Patient Pathway Assistant will be responsible for supporting the clinical teams in managing all administrative tasks across inpatient and outpatient activity in Breast Care. This will include taking high volume calls, processing and responding to email queries, and booking many different types of appointments.
To play a central role within these services and to work in close liaison with colleagues, staff in other departments, GPs, patients and the general public. To work well as part of a team whilst being able to use their own initiative.
You will lead and deliver complex technical work across workforce planning, business information (BI), and analytics, managing the relationship between these areas while driving workforce data literacy across the Trust and broader system.
By staying closely connected with a wide range of stakeholders and subject matter experts, you will ensure the team’s outputs meet evolving needs, offering stability and expert guidance. You will also have ownership of designing and implementing workforce planning and information policies, tools, and guidance, incorporating external best practices where relevant, and leading all related training and implementation efforts.
Additionally, you will oversee workforce planning and design modelling, from establishment reviews and annual operational planning to long-term strategic workforce planning. Collaborating with a wide range of clinical, operational, and corporate stakeholders across the Trust, system, and nationally, you will ensure these plans are comprehensive, aligned with best practices, and meet national requirements.
