Appointment confirmations, reminders, and information about your visit to hospital

When your appointment with the hospital is booked, you will receive a text or email confirming your appointment to the mobile number and email address you have provided. This confirmation will be followed by reminders ahead of your appointment.

You may also receive additional information about your visit to the hospital in relation to events such as unforeseen clinic changes or cancellations, or a major incident at the hospital.

Text messages will come from +44 7860 039 092. This number is genuine and not a scam. Please note, you cannot reply to this number.

Patients can choose to receive their appointment information by text and/or email by updating their preferences for each NHS Trust through the DrDoctor portal (nhs.my/nbt).

The NHS App

Patients registered with a GP in England can update their phone number and email address, and enable push notifications to be sent to their phone with confirmations and reminders for hospital appointments through the NHS App

There are some North Bristol NHS Trust specialist clinics that do not appear in the NHS App, and for those clinics, usual communication methods will continue to be used to manage appointments.

Clinics that do not appear in the NHS App are:

  • Burns Care
  • Transient Ischaemic Attack
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Fracture clinic for Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Cardiac Rehab
  • Rheumatology RTC clinics

Online questionnaires

North Bristol NHS Trust can now send patients invitations to complete online questionnaires.

Patients will receive a text message or email containing a link to a secure webpage where they will be asked to answer questions relating to their care.

Text messages will come from +44 7860 039 092. This number is genuine and not a scam. Please note, you cannot reply to this number.

You may receive a short question asking for a “yes”, “no” or “unsure” answer, or a more detailed questionnaire with multiple questions for patients to explain how they are managing their condition and to inform their care.

It will not affect your appointment or care if you’re unable to complete the online form.

Video Consultation

The video consultation service at North Bristol NHS Trust allows patients to have a video call with their clinician as an alternative to a face-to-face appointment, where clinically appropriate.
