Black and red tattoo inks usually fade very well with laser treatment.
Green, blue, purple and orange tattoo inks are the most resistant to laser treatment.
However, it can be difficult to predict which tattoos will fade well and which will be resistant to treatment, as there are hundreds of different ink recipes for each tattoo colour.
Unfortunately there are some coloured inks which do not respond at all well to laser treatment. We will discuss this with you at your consultation and give you a realistic, honest opinion on how well your particular tattoo may fade.

Bristol Laser Centre offers a sensitive, personal, honest approach to your laser treatment needs. An initial self-funded consultation, at £120, with our specialist doctor is always required to discuss your specific needs. You may then have a test patch to see how the different colours will respond to laser treatment. Once it has been shown that laser treatment will help you can start to have regular treatment sessions.
Treatments are spaced at least 8 weeks apart, to allow the body to absorb the treated pigment. Multiple treatments are always needed to fade professional tattoos as much as possible.
Multi-coloured tattoo removal laser treatment sessions start from £65 per session.
Your skin will need to be looked after carefully for one or two weeks after each appointment. You may also need to wear a high factor sunblock for the whole course of the treatment.
It is not advisable to have laser treatment if you have a heavy suntan in the area because it increases the risk of scarring and does not work so well. Our specialist will advise you on how to look after your skin.
We recommend that you do not have laser treatment for tattoos during pregnancy.
