Positive feedback from NBT patients in latest Adult Inpatient Survey

Patients have rated North Bristol NHS Trust’s (NBT) Southmead Hospital positively in the latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) Adult Inpatient Survey.

NBT received scores above the national average for Respect and Dignity, Care and Compassion, and for being able to sleep without noise from other patients.

The Trust’s overall score from patients was also above the national average at 8.3.

The CQC survey was sent to patients who spent at least one night in hospital in November 2023, and we had a higher response rate for this year’s survey with 48% of eligible people taking part, up from 42% last year.

NBT Chief Nursing Officer, Professor Steve Hams, said: “We were pleased to see such positive feedback from patients and were delighted that we scored above the national average in more than half of the survey questions, and saw patient feedback improve in a third of areas.

“Providing an outstanding patient experience is at the heart of what we do, and it was wonderful to see so many of our patients scoring us highly for respect and dignity, care and compassion.

“We value all feedback patients share with us and thank everyone who took the time to respond to the CQC survey. Hearing about your experiences helps us understand where we are doing well, but also where we need to focus our improvements and we welcome and appreciate all comments.”
