AAC West of England Specialist Team (AAC West) provides specialist assessment, training and wheelchair mounting services for the use of communication aids or Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
AAC West works with both adults and children across the South West. There is a team based in Bristol and another in Plymouth.
Communication is an essential part of how we engage with the people and the community around us. Without the ability to communicate we cannot tell others how we feel, what we think or what we need. AAC is vital for allowing people who cannot communicate through speech, to be heard.
