The first day of the New Year symbolizes new beginnings and the new arrivals at Southmead Hospital's Central Delivery Suite have entered the world with zeal, brining tremendous joy with them.
The North Bristol Trust would like to wish all the New Year's Day babies a happy birthday, and congratulations to their families.
A total of eight babies were born on New Year's Day, five boys and three girls.
The first baby was born at 3.15am, a beautiful baby boy, weighing eight pounds and five ounces.
His parents, Mr and Mrs Glavin, said, "Thank you to all the staff, especially the midwives who delivered our baby. We were made to feel very relaxed and calm. The teamwork was amazing."
Rachel Fielding, Director of Midwifery, said, "A quieter New Year's Day for new arrivals, after the busy New Year's Eve. New little bundles of joy, there is no better way to see in the New Year."
