A new M&S Food store and bakery will soon be opening inside Southmead Hospital, providing an enhanced range of fresh and healthy products to staff, visitors and patients.

The new M&S store will replace the Amigo shop, inside the Brunel atrium, which will close at 8pm on Thursday October 10. The existing Amigo site will be made bigger to incorporate the new M&S outlet and bakery.

As part of the works, a small temporary shop will be created inside the seating area of Brunel’s smaller branch of Costa Coffee, located at the front of the building. The temporary shop will open on Saturday October 12, with a small range of essential goods on sale.

The smaller branch of Costa will remain open during this time, with the seating rearranged to make space for the temporary shop.

The work forms part of a wider project to improve the retail facilities on offer inside the Brunel. The building’s larger Costa Coffee branch, also on the ground floor, closed for refurbishment last month and is set to reopen on Monday 14 October with a fresh new look.

The new M&S Food outlet is expected to open in early December.

The Brunel Building’s other retail and catering options, including the smaller Costa branch, the League of Friends shop and the Willow Café (outside Maternity services) will all remain open during the refurbishment.
