We are delighted to have welcomed Dr Jane Khawaja to our board as a Non-executive Director.
Jane is Bristol Innovations Programme Director at the University of Bristol, where she is a member of the Board of Trustees and University Court.
Jane has a keen interest in equity, diversity and inclusion and is passionate about addressing the root cause of racial inequity and ensuring race equity is embedded into policies and processes. She chairs Bristol University’s Anti-Racism Working Group and is a commissioner on Bristol City Council’s Commission on Race Equality.
Jane is also a member of the Bristol City Funds Investment Advisory Committee, a Director on the Bristol Future Talent Partnership Board and a Director on the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation Board.
She has a degree in Physics and PhD in Plasma Physics. Her career started working for Applied Materials, a global leader in the semiconductor industry. She then worked for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the UK's main agency for funding research in engineering and the physical sciences, before joining the University of Bristol.

Jane said: “I am delighted to have joined the North Bristol NHS Trust board as I am passionate about supporting the provision of high quality patient care and helping the organisation achieve its priorities.
“I feel I can bring some important experience from my work at the university and my role on Bristol City Council’s Commission on Race Equality to help NBT become a more diverse organisation."
