Southmead Hospital site roadworks beginning 22 July

We are continuing with the programme of improvement works to our pedestrian crossings and roundabouts on the Southmead Hospital Site. To allow us to safely complete these works we are implementing a number of one way systems on site. This will impact on the traffic and buses due to the location of the planned one way system around the front of the Brunel building.

There will be no traffic access to Monks Park Road or Dorian Road from the Southmead Road entrance, as the section of road outside Pines and Steps (opposite Brunel) will be one way for traffic coming through from Monks Park or Dorian Road.

Buses will drop off outside Brunel as usual, but they will now exit site via Southmead Road, either continuing up Monks Park Road or re-entering the site via Monks Park Way and exit via Dorian Road, if this is their usual route.

The 77 bus will not come onto site during this period, instead it will drop off and pick up for Southmead at the bus stops on Monks Park Road.

We are aware that these essential roadworks can be disruptive and we thank you for your patience while they are completed. These final works are the last currently planned which will cause significant disruption to the site traffic flow.

There will be signage around the affected areas which clearly indicates diversion routes, but it is likely that traffic will be slower moving on site during this period so please make sure you allow for extra time when planning your journey to and from work.
