From Monday 17th to Friday 21st January, we celebrated Thank You Week across North Bristol NHS Trust, with the public and our patients sending in hundreds of messages via social media, post and our website to thank staff for all their hard work.
It has been wonderful to see so many heartfelt messages recognising the amazing efforts of individuals and teams who have worked through such challenging circumstances for over two years during the pandemic. Throughout the week, we had support from BBC Bristol, as well as local comedian Stephen Merchant, who sent his own message of thanks to give staff a boost.
As part of Thank You Week, ‘Letters of Appreciation’ post boxes were set up around the trust for staff to send thank you cards to each other, as well as a rainbow selfie board inside the main hospital.
Over the last week, these thoughtful cards have been hand delivered to colleagues by our Senior Leadership team. Our Chief Executive, Maria Kane also took the opportunity to personally thank staff for their continued dedication.
The thank you messages we received from patients and the public have been shared with staff and a selection of these are on display in the staff canteen. You can read a sample of these messages below.
We know how a simple ‘thank you’ can make an important difference in a difficult time, and we hope the public and our patients will continue to send their messages throughout the year to show their gratitude to our NHS heroes.
