The local Clinical Commissioning Groups at NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) are currently reviewing the future models of care for rehabilitation and outpatient care services.
This work will determine the requirements for facilities across the community, including the Frenchay Health and Social Care Centre, and will conclude in spring 2013.
As a direct consequence of the timescales for completion of this review, North Bristol NHS Trust is now unable to build the proposed facilities at Frenchay in time for the move to the new hospital in spring 2014.
It is important to note that as a Trust we remain 100 percent committed to providing any commissioned healthcare services at Frenchay in the Health and Social Care Centre.
In the meantime we are considering a range of options of how we will continue to deliver services for those patients who require on-going care from the spring of 2014, whilst the facility is being built.
The private partners who have expressed an interest in working with us on the development of the Frenchay Health and Social Care Centre project have been informed of this pause and, like us, await the outcome of the review in spring 2013. They all remain keen to be involved in this innovative project.
