Suriya Kirkpatrick has become Chair of Lung Cancer Nursing UK’s (LCNUK) Research Interest Group.
Suriya is a Senior Cancer Research Nurse for the Hematology team at North Bristol NHS Trust, and is undertaking a PhD to improve lung patients’ quality-of-life, to support them to live better for longer.
Lung Cancer Nursing UK helps improve understanding of the expertise and professionalism of specialist nurses amongst healthcare professionals and policy makers. It also works to facilitate collaboration and dialogue between clinical and academic colleagues, and brings together experienced researchers and nurse specialists with an interest in lung cancer and research.
As Chair of the LCNUK Research Interest Group, Suriya will lead on developing and building research activity and capacity within the group’s Forum, and improve the evidence base upon which LCNUK members base their practice.
