NBT is proud to be a centre of excellence for health research and the holders of the Investors in People Silver accreditation. You do not always need to have research experience to join our team.

×Our Research Nurses, Midwives and AHP’s work to support and enable our patients to have the opportunity to take part in clinical research. These diverse roles enable you to use your clinical skills such as venepuncture, observations, clinical function testing and drug administration (study dependant). You will also have the chance to develop research skills such as accurate data collection, research study explanation and receiving informed consent. Utilising and growing knowledge & competence in these roles with the support of a bespoke Research Competency Framework will enable you to advance within your practice. Within the Trust, research is undertaken across a wide range of clinical areas with research teams working closely with the clinical teams to facilitate the safe delivery of research.

×Clinical Research Practitioners (CRPs) are crucial to delivering clinical research that is transforming treatment in the NHS and the care we receive. As a CRP, you will develop a wealth of research knowledge and expertise, working alongside clinical and research team to deliver safe, ethical and high-quality clinical research. You will be working in research delivery roles that involve direct contact with patients or other study participants. Utilising and growing knowledge & competence in these roles with the support of a bespoke Research Competency Framework will enable you to advance within your practice. ×As a Clinical Research Administrator, you would be responsible for providing administrative support to the clinical research team. This includes organising and coordinating clinical research activities, maintaining records, filing, and organisation of finance records. Utilising and growing knowledge & competence in these roles with the support of a bespoke Research Competency Framework will enable you to advance within your practice. Within the Trust, research is undertaken across a wide range of clinical areas with research teams working closely with the clinical teams to facilitate the safe delivery of research.

×Various teams make up the Support office for Research & Development including Study Facilitation, Sponsorship, Communications, Grant Development and Finance. From advising on initial research ideas, sourcing funding, setting up studies and signing contracts through to advertising opportunities to potential participants and raising the profile of research within the Trust. You will be part of a team who provides expert advice and ensure the smooth running of a Research journey from start to finish.
