Severn Pathology encompasses Blood Sciences (Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Haematology and Immunology), the Bristol Genetics Laboratory, Infection Sciences (Bacteriology, Antimicrobial Reference Laboratory, Virology, Mycology Reference Laboratory), and Cellular Pathology (Cytology, Histopathology and Mortuary services).
All of the above services are accredited to ISO 15189:2012 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
Severn Pathology also houses the Point of Care Testing Service which supports the use of POCT equipment within North Bristol NHS Trust.
Severn Pathology aims to ensure that users have access to high quality services. We support demand management for testing, working closely with colleagues in all areas of healthcare to ensure our services remain clinically relevant for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
