Special precautions & notes: This test should only be used to monitor patients with established proteinuria. Urine Albumin:creatinine ratio should be requested in preference to urine protein when screening for proteinuria.
Reference range: In Pregnancy: > 30 mg/mmol = Significant proteinuria. Non-Pregnant adults: < 50 mg/mmol = proteinuria unlikely, 50-100 = Proteinuria present. 100-300 = Significant proteinuria, >300 = Nephrotic proteinuria. See document below for further information.
